YOUTH CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACT

This program is intended mainly for teens aged 12 to 17 inclusively who are found guilty of an offence under the Criminal Code or the Code of Penal Procedure.
The social workers at Mesures Alternatives des Basses-Laurentides are available for teens, their parents, victims and the community.

Mesures alternatives des Basses-Laurentides works in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the intervention methods related to it.
On a case-by-case basis, we oversee the application of extrajudicial measures, extrajudicial sanctions and specific penalties.
We also supervise compensatory work provided for this purpose.

 

PROGRAM IN SCHOOLS AND THE COMMUNITY

Several workshops are offered in schools and in the community. In fact, over the years, we have developed a variety of workshops to meet people’s needs. The workshop themes are the YCJA, conflict management and bullying. can enhance our service depending on the requests of the different settings. Contact us for additional information.

Whether you need to talk to a neighbour, a coworker or a family member, Médiation citoyenne des Basses-Laurentides is there to guide you.

Mediation offers the possibility of rebuilding, improving or maintaining communication between two or more parties experiencing a conflict situation. The mediation process is facilitated by a mediator. It can be used for all types of conflicts except those related to family law (divorce, child custody).

It’s a confidential,flexible, beneficial and voluntary process.
